Pune Techie Murders 3-Year-Old Son Over Suspicion of Wife’s Infidelity; Arrested After Confession

Police say the accused slit his son’s throat and dumped the body in a forest near Chandan Nagar before being found drunk in a local lodge.

Pune, March 22 – In a horrifying incident, a 38-year-old techie in Pune, identified as Madhav Tiketi, allegedly murdered his 3.5-year-old son, Himmat, after suspecting his wife of infidelity. The tragedy unfolded in the Chandan Nagar area, where the child’s body was discovered in a forested location, his throat slit.

According to police, Madhav, originally from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, got into an argument with his wife, Swaroopa, on Thursday afternoon. Allegedly driven by suspicion and rage, he left home with their only son, spent time at a local bar, and was last seen on CCTV around 2:30 PM with the child. By 5:00 PM, security footage showed him alone, buying clothes.

🕵️‍♂️ Police Investigation

When both father and son failed to return home, a distressed Swaroopa reported them missing at the Chandan Nagar police station later that night. Acting quickly, authorities scanned CCTV footage and traced Madhav’s mobile location to a lodge, where he was found intoxicated and unconscious.

After regaining consciousness, he confessed to murdering his son. Police later recovered the child’s body in a forest nearby. A post-mortem is underway to confirm the cause of death.

“We took him into custody and upon interrogation, he admitted to killing his son. A case of murder has been registered and further investigation is ongoing,” a senior police officer confirmed.
