Rahul, Priyanka Back Pappu Yadav After Arrest
Congress alleges political vendetta, links action to NEET justice demand in Bihar
February 7, 2026: The political temperature in Bihar has risen sharply following the arrest of leader Pappu Yadav, with senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra coming out in strong support of him. Rahul Gandhi, in a social media post, claimed that Pappu Yadav was arrested for raising his voice and seeking justice in the NEET matter. He described the action as political revenge and a dangerous conspiracy, warning that such a pattern poses a serious threat to democratic dissent.
Priyanka Gandhi also questioned the government’s intentions, alleging that the arrest was carried out solely because Pappu Yadav spoke up on the NEET issue. Calling the situation “frightening,” she said that everything — from the filing of the FIR to the investigation — appeared suspicious. Priyanka further asked who the government was trying to protect through such an action, suggesting misuse of state machinery.
With both Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi publicly backing Pappu Yadav, the issue has escalated into a major political flashpoint in Bihar. The Congress has framed the arrest as an attack on voices demanding accountability, adding to mounting pressure on the state government as the controversy continues to unfold.
