IMD Forecasts Thunderstorms, Temporary Cooldown Likely
New Delhi, April 10, 2025 — Residents of Delhi-NCR may get much-needed respite from the sweltering heat today, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds due to an incoming Western Disturbance.

🌀 “Thunderstorms with gusty winds are likely between April 9–11. This will bring temporary relief from prevailing heatwave conditions,” said the IMD.
🌡️ Scorching Week So Far:
- Delhi hit 41°C at Safdarjung on April 9 – nearly 6°C above normal
- Rajasthan sizzled at 46.4°C (Barmer)
- Warm nights also reported in Haryana, UP, and MP

- Rain + Lightning + Winds in Delhi-NCR today and tomorrow
- Temperatures may dip by 2–4°C temporarily
- Heatwave may return from April 15, especially across Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi
