
Road Accident in Pune, Kills 7: PM Modi Condoles Deaths, Announces ₹2 Lakh Ex-Gratia for Victims' Families

“Deeply saddened by the loss of lives due to a road accident on the Jejuri-Morgaon road in Pune, Maharashtra. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon,” the official PMO post read.
The accident occurred on Wednesday and involved a collision between a sedan and a pickup truck, according to Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.

This incident follows another tragedy in the district just days earlier. On June 15, a bridge collapse over the Indrayani River in Pune claimed four lives and left 51 injured, as per District Collector Jitendra Dudi.
Dudi stated, “The incident happened at 3:15 pm. A rescue team of around 250 members responded swiftly and rescued about 38 people.”

The victims included Chandrakant Salve, Rohit Mane, Vihaan Mane, and one unidentified male.
