Saif Ali Khan’s Attacker Hid for Hours Post-Assault, Attempted to Mislead Police

Accused Hides in Apartment Garden After Stabbing Saif Ali Khan.

January 21, 2025: The alleged attacker of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan hid in the garden of the actor’s Bandra apartment building for two hours after the January 16 incident. Preliminary investigations reveal the attacker stayed nearby to avoid immediate capture.

Police Confirm Bangladeshi Nationality of the Accused

The accused, Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, initially identified himself as “Vijay Das” from Kolkata. However, police obtained his school leaving certificate from his brother in Bangladesh, confirming his true identity.

Details of the Incident

The attacker entered Saif Ali Khan’s apartment with the intent of theft, allegedly unaware of Khan’s residence on the upper floors.
Following the attack, where Khan was stabbed multiple times, the accused hid in the garden out of fear of being caught.
Fakir was arrested from Thane three days later and has been remanded in police custody for five days.

Saif Ali Khan’s Condition Post-Attack

Khan underwent a five-hour surgery at Lilavati Hospital and is reportedly recovering well. Police plan to recreate the crime scene at Khan’s residence with the accused as part of their investigation.
