
Shehzad Poonawala Blasts AAP, Shares BJP's Vision for Delhi in Explosive Interview with 8PM News
January 30, 2025: With Delhi’s state elections just around the corner, the political heat is intensifying. In a candid interview on 8PM News’ weekly segment Let’s Talk, BJP’s national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala took direct aim at the AAP government and its leader, Arvind Kejriwal.

Poonawala did not hold back in his critique of the AAP government, branding it a “calamity” (AAPDA). He shared accounts of his visits to areas like Dwarka and South Delhi, where he witnessed alarming levels of mismanagement. According to him, conditions were so dire in some neighborhoods that pigs were reportedly entering homes due to poor sanitation.

He also targeted Kejriwal for what he called his “sheesh mahal-like home” and accused the AAP leader of being out of touch with the common people. “We want a CM — a Common Man, not a Con Man,” Poonawala declared when asked about BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate.

The interview took a personal turn as Poonawala opened up about his childhood struggles, growing up without a father, and his strained relationship with his brother due to differing political ideologies. “I miss being around my nephews,” he said, expressing a rare moment of vulnerability.
Addressing his understanding of Hinduism despite being a practicing Muslim, Poonawala emphasized unity across religious lines. “Dharam humara sabka ek hai, panth alag alag hote hain… hum sab Hindu hi hain,” he stated, reinforcing the idea of shared cultural and spiritual heritage.
