Biswanath (Assam), November 11: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal took aim at Congress, accusing the party of “corruption, communalism, and conflict” during a campaign rally for BJP candidate Diganta Ghatowal in Assam’s Behali Assembly constituency by-election. Sonowal, who addressed gatherings in Bedeti and Borjaroni, emphasized that the BJP-led NDA government is committed to nation-building through “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas,” contrasting it with what he described as Congress’s history of divisive and corrupt practices.
“Under Congress rule, people endured hardships from a regime built on corruption and divisive politics. Today, the BJP stands for integrity, progress, and nation-building,” Sonowal stated, urging voters to choose candidates who prioritize India’s future. He lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development agenda, attributing it with fostering growth and unity across Assam and the Northeast.
Joined by Assam ministers Sanjay Kishan and Piyush Hazarika, Union Minister Pabitra Margherita, and several MPs and MLAs, Sonowal expressed confidence in the BJP’s vision, highlighting it as a shift from “decades of Congress misrule.” He added, “As we look to the future, it’s vital to remember the choices that shape our path forward.”
