CBI registers three FIRs on High Court’s directive over massive alleged corruption in Noida Sport City projects between 2011–2014.

Noida, March 22 – Acting on the directions of the Allahabad High Court, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered three cases against multiple companies, their directors, and unidentified public officials in connection with the alleged ₹9,000 crore Sport City project scam in Noida.

The cases involve serious allegations of irregularities in the allotment, planning, and development of high-profile Sport City projects in Noida’s Sectors 78, 79, and 150 between 2011 and 2014. Originally envisioned to house world-class sports infrastructure alongside commercial and residential zones, the project has now come under the scanner for alleged misuse and systemic violations.

According to the CBI, once the land was allotted, several project conditions were flouted by the allottees and sub-lease holders — allegedly in collusion with officials of the Noida Authority. The agency estimates the scam may have led to a staggering ₹9,000 crore loss to the public exchequer while offering undue benefits to private developers.

What’s more, the CBI alleges that even after a Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report flagged these irregularities, no corrective action was taken by the concerned authorities, deepening suspicions of deliberate neglect.

Following the FIRs, the CBI carried out searches at several locations in Delhi and Noida, recovering a host of incriminating documents and digital evidence.

The investigation is ongoing and expected to widen as more names emerge from the probe.
