
🌧️ Delhi Rain Disrupts Flights, Airport Issues Advisory Amid Thunderstorms
May 02, 2025 | 07:08 AM IST A powerful spell of pre-monsoon rain and thunderstorms disrupted normal life in Delhi-NCR early Friday, severely impacting flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport, the busiest airport in the country.

Meanwhile, Air India posted a travel alert:
“Some of our flights to and from Delhi are being delayed or diverted, which is likely to impact our overall flight schedule. We are doing our best to minimise disruptions.” – Air India via X (5:51 AM)
At 5:19 AM, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) posted:
“Severe thunder and lightning with winds of 70–80 km/h are expected over Delhi-NCR in the next two hours.”
The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for Delhi through Saturday, forecasting continued thunderstorms and rain.
