Extremely Heavy Rain To Lash Pune And Nearby Regions Today; IMD Issues Orange Alert
June 30, 2025: Brace for a wet week, Punekars! The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Pune today, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall across the city and surrounding areas. Commuters are advised to expect disruptions due to waterlogging, traffic snarls, and reduced visibility, while residents in low-lying and flood-prone zones should stay cautious.
This marks the beginning of a rain-soaked week, as monsoon intensity picks up across Maharashtra. According to the IMD, the orange alert will remain in place until July 4, with a yellow alert likely to follow through the weekend.
