As saints settle into Mela tents and security intensifies, Prayagraj gears up to welcome over 45 crore devotees for the grand spiritual gathering.

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), January 6: The Anand Akhada Peshwai made its grand entry into Prayagraj on Monday, marking a significant milestone in the preparations for the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, scheduled to commence on January 13.

The Anand Akhada procession began its journey from its headquarters in Allahpur and entered the Mela grounds through Daraganj with great pomp and reverence. Known for its dedication to Suryanarayana, the Sun God, the Anand Akhada is celebrated for promoting Hindu scriptures, yoga, meditation, and martial arts through its institutions.

Spiritual Significance of Anand Akhada

Acharya Mandleshwar Balkanand Ji Maharaj, the spiritual head of Anand Akhada, expressed the importance of the Sun God’s presence at the Mela.

“Every seer of Anand Akhada from around the world will settle in the Mela tents from today. Our deity, the Sun God, will provide energy and spiritual growth to everyone in the Mela,” he said.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, held once every 12 years, is expected to draw over 45 crore devotees who will gather at the Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, to take a holy dip believed to cleanse sins and grant moksha (liberation).
