NEW DELHI — In a chilling incident that has shocked Northwest Delhi, a 35-year-old domestic help was allegedly murdered, and her body was stuffed inside a double bed box at a paying guest (PG) accommodation in Mangolpuri. Delhi Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of her 22-year-old boyfriend and two older accomplices in connection with the brutal killing.
- The Discovery at Patthar Market
The crime came to light around 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 7, when the owner of a PG facility in Mangolpuri’s Patthar Market returned to his room.
The Protruding Leg: The owner, who had lent his room to the 22-year-old suspect for a few hours, found the door unlocked and the occupant missing. Upon entering, he noticed a leg protruding from the storage compartment of the bed box.
The Victim: Police identified the deceased as a local resident and mother of three who worked as a domestic help. A post-mortem examination revealed strangulation marks and blunt-force injuries to her forehead.
- The Motive: A Refusal and a “Fit of Rage”
According to senior police officers, the prime accused—who operated a chicken shop near the victim’s house—confessed to the murder during interrogation.
The Conflict: On Tuesday afternoon, the accused took the woman to the PG room. Shortly after, his 50-year-old uncle and a 52-year-old associate joined them.
The Assault: The accused claimed he killed the woman after she refused to be physically intimate with the two older men. In a “fit of rage,” he pinned her to the floor, smothered her with a blanket, and strangled her.
Disappearance of Evidence: While the 22-year-old committed the act, the uncle and his associate allegedly stood guard outside and subsequently helped the killer flee the scene.

The Mangolpuri police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS):
Charges: The suspects face charges under Section 103 (Murder) and Section 238 (Causing disappearance of evidence).
The Arrested: Along with the prime accused, his uncle and the uncle’s friend were taken into custody on Wednesday.
