“Whether Congress, SP Form An Alliance Or Not, It Will Not Affect Health Of BJP”: UP Dy CM Maurya
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya on Wednesday took a dig at the unity of the Opposition alliance INDIA and targeted Congress and Samajwadi Party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
He said that both SP and Congress are alike and the public understands their actions.
“These two (SP and Congress) parties have formed an alliance before too, be it the 2017 Assembly elections or the 2019 Lok Sabha elections… The public understands their actions… Whether Congress and SP form an alliance or not, it will not affect the health of the Bharatiya Janata Party,” said Maurya.
His statement comes amid reports of a lack of coordination regarding seats between the two parties of the INDIA bloc.
The BJP leader reacting to Akhilesh Yadav’s statement regarding seat sharing within the INDIA alliance said, “These are all selfish people, they are involved in the politics of dynasty and corruption.”
Maurya further reiterated that BJP will win again in Madhya Pradesh and will be taking Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh as well from Congress, adding that BJP is moving towards a historic win in Telangana.
On Tuesday, while speaking to reporters about the allocation of seats in the INDIA bloc in Madhya Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav said that the Congress party will answer who will get how many seats in the alliance.
Earlier during the day, Congress leader Rakesh Sinha responding to Akhilesh Yadav’s statement on seat sharing said, “I think the questions regarding seat sharing that how, when and where it will happen are not appropriate at present.”
“INDIA alliance has had three meetings and Akhilesh Yadav can only tell if he was there in them or not and when discussions were held on all the issues during the meetings then Akhilesh Yadav should also know all the things or he should get information about them that what all policies and strategies have been formed on seat sharing,” said Sinha.
He further said that all the parties of the INDIA bloc held discussions on this (seat sharing) in the Mumbai meeting, and a coordination committee was also formed, all the things are in the public domain so such statements after this are not appropriate.
