
Sunita Williams at Kerala Literature Festival
NASA astronaut joins KLF events in Kozhikode, to share space journey and experiences
January 22, 2026: Renowned NASA astronaut Sunita Williams arrived in Kozhikode on Wednesday night to attend the Kerala Literature Festival (KLF), organised by DC Books. She is scheduled to participate in several sessions at the festival until January 25 and will be present at the inaugural event on Thursday evening alongside Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
The inaugural ceremony will also feature prominent personalities, including Kerala Tourism Minister P A Muhammad Riyas, Tamil Nadu Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, MP Thamizhachi Thangapandian, poet K Satchidanandan, actors Bhavana and Prakash Raj, The Hindu Group chairperson Nirmala Lakshman, bureaucrat Divya S Iyer, and several international and cultural figures. Later on Thursday night, Williams will address a session titled “Dreams Reach Orbit: Meet the Astronaut Who Touched the Sky”, moderated by Preeti Choudhry.
On Friday morning, Williams will interact with young audiences at the Children’s KLF session “Once Upon a Time in Space”, moderated by actress Rima Kallingal. She will also take part in “Astronaut’s Odyssey” on January 25 morning, moderated by Barkha Dutt, followed by an evening session titled “When Earth Can’t Keep You Down”, moderated by writer Manu S Pillai, offering insights into her extraordinary journey beyond Earth.
