The political landscape in Tamil Nadu has heated up as Chief Minister M K Stalin officially filed his nomination from the Kolathur Assembly constituency in Chennai, expressing strong confidence of securing a fourth consecutive victory.
Stalin Confident of Strong Mandate
After submitting his nomination papers, Stalin said he was witnessing stronger public support than in previous elections. He asserted that the ruling alliance is heading toward a decisive win, claiming a “very bright” victory for his party.
He has represented Kolathur since 2011 and has successfully retained the seat in the 2011, 2016, and 2021 elections, making it one of the strongest bastions of the DMK leadership.
Roadshow and Political Messaging
Following the nomination filing, Stalin conducted a brief roadshow in the constituency, interacting with supporters and showcasing his government’s development work in Kolathur. He also released a booklet highlighting achievements during his tenure.
In a strong political message, he framed the upcoming election as an ideological contest, stating that Tamil Nadu is “fighting against Delhi,” while reinforcing unity within the opposition alliance.
Vijay to Make Electoral Debut
Adding excitement to the election season, actor-turned-politician Vijay is set to contest his first Assembly election under his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). He will be fielded from two constituencies — Perambur in Chennai and Tiruchi East — marking a significant entry into Tamil Nadu politics.
His debut is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the electoral race, drawing attention from both political observers and the public.
