"The World Will Move Ahead with Yoga, Not War": Baba Ramdev on Holi
Rishikesh (Uttarakhand), March 14: The Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh turned into a global hub of celebration as dignitaries from 75 countries gathered to mark Holi and the International Yoga Festival. Amid vibrant festivities, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev emphasized that the world’s future lies in Yoga, not war, while Swami Chidanand Saraswati urged people to break barriers of discrimination and embrace the colours of love and unity.
Speaking at the celebrations, Patanjali Founder and Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev highlighted the spiritual significance of Holi and its deeper connection with Yoga.
🗣️ “Holi is a festival of the victory of good over evil, and today, we also celebrate the birthday of Sadhvi Mata Bhagawati. Dignitaries from over 70 countries have gathered here for the International Yoga Festival. We conducted dancing yoga, singing yoga, and spiritual yoga under the guidance of Swami Chidanand Saraswati of Parmarth Niketan Ashram and Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati. The world will move forward by following the path of Yoga, not war,” Ramdev said.
He further stated that Yoga is uniting the world as one big family, fulfilling the vision of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The World is One Family).
Parmarth Niketan Ashram President Swami Chidanand Saraswati emphasized the festival’s universal appeal and called on people to remove hatred and discrimination from their lives.
🗣️ “Holi is a festival of faith and unity. Today, people from 75 countries celebrated Holi together, speaking different languages and having different skin colours. But there was no barrier—only love. This is the true spirit of Holi. We must break the walls of discrimination and remove hatred. The colours of love and affection are the most enduring,” he said.
He also acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to spread peace globally, stating, “Today, at the International Yoga Festival, we have witnessed the message of peace being embraced by people from all over the world.”
Swami Chidanand Saraswati also stressed the importance of religious harmony and mutual respect, calling for a world where all faiths are valued.
🗣️ “People from nearly 75 countries are here at the ashram to experience India’s unique culture. You don’t need to change your religion—just respect each other’s faiths. The key to true progress is being the best version of yourself.”
He further advised, “Let there be a delay in time, but don’t let yourself fall behind or ahead in life. Stay true to yourself.”
