“This moment came after around 400-500 yrs”: Shankaracharya

Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand Saraswati expressed that the long-awaited “moment” of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22 has finally arrived after a span of approximately 400-500 years marked by “big fights” and “wars.”

Reflecting on the ceremony, he stated, “…It is happening after consistent efforts over time. After around 400-500 years, this moment has come.” He acknowledged the historical challenges, mentioning the significant conflicts and invasions that impacted the religion.

Ayodhya is abuzz with anticipation as it readies for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Lord Shri Ram Lala at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi on January 22. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected the arrangements and expressed satisfaction with the preparations. The idol of Ram Lalla was reverently placed in the ‘Garbha Griha’ of the Ram Temple amid joyous chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ In a noteworthy prelude to the upcoming ceremony, a special puja was conducted in the sanctum sanctorum before the idol was carefully brought inside with the assistance of a crane. The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya’s temple is scheduled for January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to perform rituals, and a team of priests, led by Lakshmikant Dixit, overseeing the main rituals​
