Trinamool Congress alleges massive financial deal in sting video, names leaders from Bharatiya Janata Party in West Bengal.

April 9, 2026: A political storm has erupted in West Bengal after the Trinamool Congress released a purported sting operation video allegedly linked to Humayun Kabir. The ruling party claimed the footage suggests a high-value financial deal, allegedly worth ₹1,000 crore, including an advance payment of ₹300 crore. Calling the matter “extremely serious,” the TMC has demanded a detailed investigation into the claims.

TMC leaders alleged that several senior figures from the Bharatiya Janata Party are referenced in the conversation. Those named include Mohan Yadav, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Suvendu Adhikari, along with mention of the Prime Minister’s Office. The BJP has not issued a response to the allegations so far.

Addressing a press conference, senior TMC leaders Firhad Hakim, Arup Biswas and Kunal Ghosh termed the video a “major revelation” and hinted at a broader political conspiracy ahead of the elections. The party has urged the Enforcement Directorate to conduct an impartial probe, intensifying the political confrontation in the state.
