TTD Refutes Bhumana Reddy’s Allegations On Temple Practices
June 21, 2025 | In a firm rebuttal to allegations made by former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, the TTD on Friday dismissed his statements as “completely false” and lacking in any factual foundation. The religious body said his comments were an unjustified attempt to tarnish the reputation of one of the most revered temples in India.

Addressing allegations of diluting traditional Vedic practices at the Tirumala temple, the TTD clarified that it has actually enhanced and stabilized these practices over the past year. The chant ‘Om Namo Venkatesaya’ is being prominently broadcast throughout the temple complex, including on footpaths, in queue lines, and across service areas, the institution noted.
Responding to claims that temple priests were being disrespected, the TTD reaffirmed its deep commitment to the physical and mental well-being of its priests and Vedic students. Ongoing initiatives include improved support systems and infrastructure for the priest community.

On the issue of notices sent to various religious mutts including Visakha Sharada Peetham, the TTD stated that these were issued only in line with court directives, and only to institutions that were found to have encroached upon land beyond their sanctioned limits.
Highlighting the reforms undertaken in the past year, TTD emphasized key measures:
In response to the 2023 Parakamani scandal, TTD stated that it had implemented a Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) and armoured security protocols. Every individual entering the Parakamani now undergoes thorough security checks.
