UN Report Confirms JeM Women’s Wing, Delhi Blast Link
UNSC monitoring team validates disclosures on Jaish-e-Mohammed’s activities
February 12, 2026: The United Nations Security Council’s Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team has confirmed key findings regarding Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in its 37th report, including the formation of a women’s wing named Jamaat-ul-Mominat. According to the report, the globally designated terrorist organisation has mobilised women cadres as part of its evolving strategy to carry out activities against India. The monitoring team also confirmed that the November 10 suicide car bombing in Delhi was executed by JeM, affirming links to the group’s network.
The report states that the Delhi blast was carried out by a module associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, corroborating earlier claims that the attack was orchestrated by operatives connected to the outfit’s leadership. While the UN document does not explicitly name Pakistan, it notes that one member state claimed JeM is now defunct — an assertion that contrasts with findings indicating the group’s continued operational presence.
The UNSC report further highlights concerns about JeM’s ongoing activities, including public mobilisation and open threats against India in various regions. The developments underscore international alarm over the outfit’s continued involvement in cross-border terror activities and raise broader questions about enforcement of bans against proscribed organisations.
