UP Boy Dies by Suicide After Brutal Harassment at Birthday Party

The boy was allegedly stripped, beaten, and urinated upon during a birthday party. The family claims police delayed registering their complaint.

December 24, 2024: In a deeply disturbing incident from Basti, Uttar Pradesh, a minor boy named Aditya died by suicide after allegedly being subjected to severe harassment during a birthday party. The Uttar Pradesh police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.

Allegations by the Victim’s Family

According to Vijay Kumar, Aditya’s uncle, the boy was invited to a birthday party in the village, where he was brutally assaulted.
“He was stripped naked, beaten, and even urinated upon. When we tried to lodge a complaint, the authorities initially refused to register it,” said Vijay.

The family alleges that the incident occurred on December 20, and Aditya returned home late at night, sharing his ordeal with them the following morning. Despite multiple visits to the police station, they claim their complaint was not officially registered for three days.

Police Response

Circle Officer Pradeep Kumar Tripathi confirmed the registration of a case and stated,
“A boy named Aditya hanged himself, and a case has been registered in PS Kaptanganj. The reason is suspected to be mutual differences. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the complete truth.”

Delay in Action Raised Questions

The family asserts that repeated harassment and the lack of timely intervention by the authorities pushed Aditya to take this extreme step. They further claimed that the delayed response from law enforcement exacerbated the trauma.

Investigation Underway

The police have assured a thorough investigation into the case, and further details are awaited. Meanwhile, the incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns about bullying and the lack of timely intervention by authorities in sensitive cases.

This tragic event underscores the urgent need for better monitoring and immediate action by law enforcement to prevent such incidents from escalating.
