UP Shocker: Woman Elopes With To Be Son-in-Law Days Before Wedding, Takes Cash & Jewellery

The bride-to-be, Shivani, a resident of a village under the Madrak police station limits, said she was set to marry Rahul on April 16, but her mother Anita vanished with the groom on April 6, taking with her ₹3.5 lakh in cash and jewellery worth over ₹5 lakh.
“They used to talk on the phone frequently for the last 3–4 months. Now she’s taken everything — not even ₹10 is left. My mother followed everything Rahul told her. We just want our money and jewellery back,” Shivani said, clearly heartbroken.
Shivani’s father, Jitendra Kumar, who runs a business in Bengaluru, said he had heard rumors about Anita’s frequent calls with Rahul but didn’t intervene because the wedding was nearing.

“They would talk for 22 hours a day, and I suspected something, but didn’t want to disrupt the wedding. Now they’re both missing,” he said.
When he tried to contact Anita and Rahul, both had their phones switched off. Hours later, Rahul reportedly responded with a chilling message:
“He said I had troubled Anita for 20 years and should forget her,” Mr. Kumar claimed.
A missing persons report has been filed, and the Madrak police confirmed that an investigation is underway.
“We have registered a case. The accused will be tracked, and necessary legal action will follow,” a police official stated.
This shocking incident has stunned the village community, turning what was to be a celebration into a scandal.
