February 26, 2026: The Government of Uttar Pradesh signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Yamanashi Prefecture on green hydrogen technology during Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Japan. The agreement was formalised at the UP Investment Road Show in Yamanashi, where the Chief Minister invited Japanese investors to explore opportunities in the state. The MoU aims to facilitate advanced training for students from higher technical institutions in Japan and implement green hydrogen solutions across Uttar Pradesh’s industrial, public transport and energy sectors, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Net Zero vision.
Highlighting sustainable development, the Chief Minister said the partnership would strengthen technology transfer and enhance skill development, creating a trained workforce capable of integrating green hydrogen applications into key sectors. The UP delegation also held multiple Government-to-Government and Government-to-Business meetings in Tokyo with support from the Indian Embassy, engaging Japanese industry leaders to expand investment avenues. He also announced plans to establish a Centre of Excellence in Robotics, underlining robotics as a transformative technology for the future.
