
UP's UPSC Stars: From Shakti Dubey to Kumud Mishra, Civil Services 2024 Sees Stellar Results From the State

Uttar Pradesh once again stamped its mark on the national stage as multiple candidates from the state cracked the prestigious UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024, including the All India Rank (AIR) 1 holder, Shakti Dubey of Prayagraj.
The Union Public Service Commission declared the final results on April 22, and the merit list saw numerous success stories from the state, many of whom overcame repeated setbacks, financial constraints, and immense pressure to achieve their dream.
🎓 Mayank Tripathi, who secured AIR 10 in his third attempt, had already joined the Indian Revenue Services after securing Rank 373 last year. Son of a government accountant in the DM’s office in Kannauj, Mayank credited perseverance and family support for his rise.
👩🎓 Kumud Mishra, a Lucknow University alumna, climbed from AIR 259 last year to a spot in the top 100. “I had no set study hours. I just focused on completing my daily targets,” said Kumud, who has a keen interest in Origami and best-from-waste crafts. With political science as her optional subject, she highlighted the importance of previous experience in improving her rank.
🔥 Prashant Singh, who cracked the exam on his fourth attempt, shared his powerful message: “Failures are just stepping stones. Stay mentally strong.” His journey from interview rejection to AIR 102 this year is a tale of resilience.
🏛 Rajat Singh, an IIT Roorkee graduate, and Indian Railway Services officer, cleared the exam on his fourth attempt. His disciplined background and family support propelled him forward.
🧪 Anushree Sachan, an IIT Bombay BTech graduate with chemistry as her optional subject, cracked it in her fourth attempt, proving that determination and planning eventually pay off.

A total of 1,009 candidates were selected for various services including IAS, IPS, IFS, and Central Group A & B services. Among these, Uttar Pradesh accounted for a significant share of top performers, reinforcing the state’s strong tradition of producing civil servants.
