Uttar Pradesh adds over 84 lakh voters after revision; youth participation and gender ratio show significant improvement.
April 10, 2026: The voter list in Uttar Pradesh has expanded by over 84 lakh names following a comprehensive revision exercise, taking the total electorate to more than 13.39 crore. The update comes after the Special Intensive Revision conducted over 166 days across all 75 districts and 403 assembly constituencies.
Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said the exercise involved coordinated efforts by officials at multiple levels, along with active participation from political party representatives and voters. Media outreach also played a key role in spreading awareness during the process.
The final data shows that male voters number over 7.3 crore (around 54%), while female voters account for over 6.09 crore (45.46%). The number of third gender voters stands at 4,206. Compared to the draft roll, the list has grown by 84,28,767 voters, including nearly equal additions of male and female voters.
A key highlight is the sharp rise in young voters aged 18–19, whose numbers jumped from just over 3.3 lakh in the draft to more than 17.6 lakh in the final list. The gender ratio has also improved, rising from 824 to 834 female voters per 1,000 male voters.
Among districts, Prayagraj recorded the highest increase, followed by Lucknow. Other districts like Bareilly, Ghaziabad and Jaunpur also saw significant additions.
Officials said the completion of the revision reflects a coordinated effort between the administration, political stakeholders and citizens, strengthening the state’s electoral framework ahead of upcoming polls.
