June 12, 2025: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially declared the Civil Services Examination (CSE) Prelims 2025 result on June 11. Candidates who appeared for the exam can now check their qualifying status through the official websites — upsc.gov.in and upsconline.gov.in.
The exam, held on May 25, 2025, included Paper 1 (General Studies) conducted in the morning and Paper 2 (CSAT) in the afternoon. This year’s prelims paper was reportedly lengthy and challenging, as noted by several aspirants and coaching mentors.
✅ Indian Forest Service Prelims Result Also Out
In addition to the CSE results, UPSC has also released the prelims result status for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination 2025. Candidates who have cleared the prelims stage for either exam are now eligible to appear for the next round — the Mains exam.
📅 Next Steps for Qualified Candidates
Qualified candidates must update key information on the UPSC portal between June 16 and June 25, 2025. This includes:
- Payment of Rs 200 fee (waived for SC/ST/PwBD/female candidates)
- Scribe and assistive device details
- Large-font question paper requests
- Correction of name discrepancies via gazette notifications
The UPSC CSE Mains 2025 is scheduled to begin on August 22, 2025, and will run for five days. The Mains are descriptive in nature and serve as the second stage of the three-tier UPSC selection process — Prelims, Mains, and Interview.
📊 Final Results and Cut-Off Marks
The cut-off marks, individual scores, and answer keys for both the CSE and IFS 2025 prelims will be published on upsc.gov.in only after the final result is announced in 2026.
A total of 979 vacancies are expected to be filled this year through the CSE 2025 recruitment process.
