March 31, 2026: Actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay has come under intense public focus after declaring assets worth over ₹620 crore in his election affidavit ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The filing details movable assets of ₹404.58 crore and immovable properties valued at ₹220.15 crore, including gold, luxury vehicles, and cash holdings. His spouse Sangeetha Vijay has also declared significant assets, including gold, diamonds, and property worth several crores.
A key highlight of the affidavit is the substantial loans extended by Vijay to family members. These include ₹12.6 crore to his wife, ₹3.02 crore to his father S. A. Chandrasekhar, and ₹87.12 lakh to his mother Shobha Chandrasekhar, along with smaller amounts to his children. These disclosures have drawn attention to his financial dealings within the family.
On the political front, Vijay has filed his nomination from the Perambur constituency and is actively campaigning under his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, which has fielded candidates across all 234 seats.
