
Weather Alert Latest! IMD Issues Red Alert for Kerala and Maharashtra, Light Rain in Delhi
May 25, 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alerts for several districts in Kerala and Maharashtra, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds as the southwest monsoon arrives earlier than usual.

The monsoon reached Kerala on May 24, marking the earliest onset over the Indian mainland since 2009. IMD officials confirmed that the monsoon is active in South India, creating favorable conditions for its arrival in Maharashtra soon.

IMD has also advised fishermen in Maharashtra to avoid venturing out to sea due to rough conditions.
