“We’re With You”: US Spy Chief Backs PM Modi’s Hunt for Pahalgam Terrorists
April 26, 2025: Washington, DC:
In the aftermath of the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, that left 26 civilians dead, the United States has extended full support to India. US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard personally conveyed her condolences to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and assured him of Washington’s backing in pursuing the terrorists.

“We are with you and support you as you hunt down those responsible for this heinous attack,” Gabbard wrote in an official letter, standing in solidarity with India against what she termed a “horrific Islamist terrorist attack that killed Hindus.”
The incident, which occurred earlier this week, involved terrorists targeting civilians in Baisaran Valley, also known as “Mini Switzerland,” after asking them to prove their religious identity. One foreign national was among the deceased. The targeted, religiously motivated nature of the killings has triggered global outrage.
Pakistan-Based Terror Links Emerge
India’s investigation into the attack has revealed clear links to Pakistan and territories under its illegal occupation. The Resistance Front, believed to be a proxy of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), claimed responsibility for the assault. Intelligence inputs indicate coordination from across the border.
A high-level security review chaired by PM Modi affirmed that the incident followed the successful completion of democratic elections in the Union Territory and was an attempt to derail the region’s path toward stability and economic progress.

India’s Diplomatic and Military Posturing
In response, India has enacted several diplomatic measures against Pakistan and suspended the Indus Waters Treaty. Prime Minister Modi vowed to hunt down terrorists and their enablers “to the ends of the world” and punish them beyond imagination.
Amid growing fears of Indian retaliation, Pakistan has reportedly shut its airspace to Indian flights and increased air surveillance along its border. Intelligence suggests Islamabad is conducting 24×7 reconnaissance flights to prepare for a possible military response.
Global Leaders Rally Behind India
Support poured in from across the globe.
At the time of the assault, PM Modi was in Saudi Arabia for a key diplomatic engagement with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The Saudi leadership has since expressed grief over the attack and pledged support to India in its anti-terror stance.
Leaders from Australia, the UK, China, Japan, Sri Lanka, and many other nations also expressed their condolences and pledged solidarity with India.
