⚖️ The 2024 Goa Case

Seth was arrested in January 2024 from Chitradurga, Karnataka, after she was found traveling in a taxi with her deceased son’s body hidden in a suitcase. She had checked into a service apartment in Candolim, Goa, on January 6, and left two days later alone, prompting suspicion from hotel staff who noticed blood-stained towels and her son’s absence.

Her initial claim that the blood was from menstruation and her son was with a friend in Margao quickly fell apart after the given address turned out to be fake. Acting swiftly, police intercepted her taxi and found the child’s body. A chilling note recovered from her luggage hinted at her emotional turmoil over an alleged custody dispute, suggesting she did not want anyone else to raise her son.

Seth was charged under Section 302 (murder), Section 201 (destruction of evidence) of the IPC, and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act.
