Nawazuddin Siddiqui Delves into the Mysteries of ‘Rautu Ka Raaz’!

Renowned actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, known for his compelling performances in films like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ and ‘The Lunchbox’, is gearing up for the release of his latest film, ‘Rautu Ka Raaz’. In this intriguing mystery thriller, Siddiqui takes on the role of Deepak Negi, a cop stationed in the tranquil village of Rautu Ki Beli in Uttarakhand—a place untouched by murder for over fifteen years.

During a conversation with ANI, Siddiqui shared his enthusiasm for the film’s concept and serene shooting locations. He stated, “I liked the concept and the premises of the film and enjoyed shooting in a serene environment.”

A Gripping Storyline

The official synopsis of ‘Rautu Ka Raaz’ reveals an engrossing plot centered around the mysterious death of a warden at a blind school in the sleepy town of Rautu Ki Beli. This rare and high-profile murder disrupts the town’s peaceful existence, prompting SHO Deepak Negi (played by Siddiqui) and his team to step in and solve the case. The film highlights a unique and jovial camaraderie between SHO Negi and sub-inspector Dimri, portrayed by Rajesh Kumar, as they navigate the challenges of this unusual investigation.

On-Set Camaraderie

Rajesh Kumar reminisced about the fun and memorable moments on set, particularly their Diwali celebration. “We created many memories. We celebrated Diwali there like a family for 23-25 days. We had ruined the peace of the jungle for 25 days,” he shared. Kumar also recalled the intense night sequences that added to the film’s gripping atmosphere.

Siddiqui praised his co-star Rajesh Kumar, noting his versatility beyond his comedic image on television. “His image on TV was that of a comedy actor but there is a different type of individual inside him. He has spontaneity inside him… He does everything while being in the character,” Siddiqui remarked.

Behind the Scenes

Directed by Anand Surapur and produced by Zee Studios and Phat Phish Records, ‘Rautu Ka Raaz’ also stars Atul Tiwari and Narayani Shastri in supporting roles. The film had its gala premiere at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) last year, where it received a warm welcome.

The excitement continues to build as ‘Rautu Ka Raaz’ is set for its OTT premiere on June 28th on ZEE5. Fans eagerly anticipate witnessing Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s compelling performance and the unraveling of this captivating mystery.
