Mumbai, December 19: India’s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane shared an emotional farewell note for Ravichandran Ashwin following the veteran spinner’s surprise announcement to retire from international cricket.
Ashwin, alongside captain Rohit Sharma, made his retirement official after India’s recent Test match. The announcement came as fans speculated a major development after cameras captured a poignant embrace between Ashwin and Virat Kohli on the final day of the Test.
Rahane, taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, described standing at slip during Ashwin’s spells as an “unforgettable experience.” He thanked Ashwin for the memories and wished him success in his future endeavors.
