Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Hiked from January 1, Rates Rise Across Major Cities
Oil marketing companies increase prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹111 nationwide, raising costs for hotels, restaurants and businesses.
Oil marketing companies have raised the prices of commercial LPG cylinders with effect from January 1, 2026, making cooking gas costlier for businesses such as hotels, restaurants and catering services.
The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by ₹111 across the country. In Delhi, the revised retail price now stands at ₹1,691.50, up from ₹1,580.50. Mumbai witnessed a similar hike, with prices rising to ₹1,642.50 from ₹1,531.50. In Kolkata, the rate moved up from ₹1,684 to ₹1,795, while Chennai recorded the steepest increase, with prices jumping from ₹1,739.50 to ₹1,849.50.
Alongside commercial cylinders, prices of 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders have also been increased by ₹27, effective January 1, according to reports.
Household consumers have been spared from the latest hike. Domestic LPG cylinders of 14.2 kg continue to be sold at ₹853, a price that has remained unchanged since a ₹50 increase in April last year.
Earlier, in August, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had reiterated the Centre’s commitment to keeping LPG prices stable for consumers. To offset losses incurred by oil marketing companies due to global price volatility, the Union Cabinet approved a compensation package of ₹30,000 crore, to be paid in twelve instalments.
The revised commercial LPG prices came into force on January 1 and will remain applicable until the next price review by oil marketing companies.
