David Miller Hails Dinesh Karthik’s Experience Ahead of SA20 Season 3

Paarl Royals’ Captain Highlights the Impact of Veteran Players Dinesh Karthik and Joe Root in Strengthening the Team

Cape Town [South Africa], January 10: Paarl Royals captain David Miller has lauded veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik, calling his experience a significant asset for the team in the upcoming SA20 Season 3. The tournament, which began on January 9, will feature Miller’s Royals facing Sunrisers Eastern Cape in their opening match on Saturday.

Building a Strong Team

Speaking at the Official Captains’ Press Conference, Miller expressed optimism about the team’s prospects this season, emphasizing the inclusion of fresh talent and seasoned players.

“This year, we’ve got quite a few new faces and some exciting young players. There’s some seriously good talent, and we’re excited to have them,” Miller said. He also highlighted the addition of coach Trevor Penny, whose global experience as a player and coach brings invaluable expertise to the squad.

Dinesh Karthik and Joe Root: Key Additions

Miller spotlighted Dinesh Karthik, whose leadership and experience as a senior player will strengthen the team’s performance. Additionally, he praised Joe Root, describing the English batter’s expertise as a valuable resource for the franchise.

“It’s nice to have Dinesh Karthik’s experience as a senior player. Joe Root’s inclusion is equally exciting for me. I look forward to tapping into their experience,” Miller added.

The captain also shared insights into the team’s preparation, stating that training sessions and warm-up games are going well.

Tournament Highlights

The SA20 2025 tournament will run from January 9 to February 8, featuring 30 matches followed by three playoffs on February 4, 5, and 6. The final will take place at the iconic Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on February 8.
