Sonu Nigam steps in for crowd control during Kolkata performance, calling out poor audience behavior and management.

February 10, 2025: Singer Sonu Nigam enthralled his fans during a concert in Kolkata on February 10, but an incident with the audience left the celebrated artist visibly upset. As some members of the crowd stood up during his performance, disrupting the flow of the event, Sonu took charge, urging them to sit down with sharp remarks.

Sonu’s Fiery Response

In a video shared by a fan, Sonu is seen addressing the audience directly from the stage. He remarked, “Agar tumko khada hona hi hain, election mein khade ho jaao yaar! Please baithao. Jaldi karo… itna time jaa raha hai mera maalum hain? Apka cut-off time aa jayega phir. Baithao! Jaldi baitho! Baitho! Bahar niklo! Make this space empty!”

(Translation: “If you want to stand, go stand in an election! Please sit down. My time is being wasted. Sit fast or leave!”)

Fan Reactions and Criticism of Organizers

Fans defended Sonu Nigam in the comments, expressing disappointment over the event’s poor management. One user commented, “It’s shameful that Sonu Sir had to manage the crowd himself due to such bad organization.” Another added, “He had to do it himself because he knows what happened to KK. Artists are being forced to prioritize their own safety.”

This was in reference to the tragic demise of singer KK in 2022, who passed away due to a medical emergency during a poorly managed event in Kolkata.

Health Challenges

Despite his recent severe back spasm during another live performance, Sonu Nigam delivered a stellar show. Speaking about the experience on Instagram, he shared, “It felt like a needle was piercing my spine… really excruciating pain.”

Safety and Management Concerns

The incident has once again highlighted the need for better security and crowd management at public events, particularly following the unfortunate episodes involving other artists.
