“He Had to…”: Gangster Goldy Brar Breaks Silence on Sidhu Moose Wala’s Murder in Explosive Interview

Two years after the daylight assassination of singer Sidhu Moose Wala, key accused Goldy Brar breaks silence in a BBC interview, calling it an act of retribution and dismissing India’s justice system.

More than two years after the brazen murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, Goldy Brar, the main accused in the case, has publicly admitted to orchestrating the killing. In a controversial interview with the BBC, Brar said the decision to eliminate the artist stemmed from what he termed Moose Wala’s “unforgivable arrogance.”

“It was either him or us,” said Brar. “We had no option but to kill him… He had to face the consequences of his actions.”

The 2022 murder — which saw Moose Wala’s SUV riddled with over 100 bullets in Punjab’s Mansa district — shocked the nation. Brar, who is currently based in Canada, is designated a terrorist under UAPA and has a Red Corner Notice issued against him by Interpol.

Brar’s Allegations:

  • Claimed Sidhu Moose Wala sided with rivals in a dispute linked to a kabaddi tournament.
  • Accused Moose Wala of using political power and money to shield enemies of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
  • Stated that Moose Wala was warned but “nobody listened,” pushing them to take “justice” into their own hands.

“When decency falls on deaf ears, it’s the gunshot that gets heard,” Brar said.

Brar also alleged that Moose Wala had attempted to befriend jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi by regularly sending greetings but later supported their enemies.

Brar on Justice System:

Dismissing the idea of law and order, Brar said:

“Law. Justice. There’s no such thing. Only the powerful can get justice, not people like us. I have no remorse.”

  • Sidhu Moose Wala, born Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, was an influential Punjabi singer and political figure.
  • His murder came shortly after Punjab Police had withdrawn security provided to several high-profile individuals.
  • The killing was initially believed to be a gang rivalry hit, later linked to Lawrence Bishnoi’s network.

The Indian government has accused Brar of working with Babbar Khalsa International and being involved in cross-border arms smuggling using drones.
