On Day 5 of the Brisbane Test in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Bumrah surpassed the legendary Kapil Dev’s record of 51 wickets on Australian soil.
Bumrah’s exceptional performance throughout the series, marked by breathtaking spells of fast bowling, culminated in a moment of glory when he dismissed Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne in the second innings. The wicket brought Bumrah’s tally to 53 scalps at an average of 17.21, surpassing Kapil’s impressive record of 51 wickets at an average of 24.58.
