Julie Chrisley Breaks Silence After Trump Pardon: “I’m Getting Out of Here!”

One month after returning home from prison, Julie Chrisley shares her emotional reaction to President Trump’s pardon, as she and husband Todd prepare to relaunch their podcast and speak their truth.

Nashville, June 28 — Julie Chrisley has made her first public statement since receiving a full presidential pardon from Donald Trump and being released from prison. In a new interview preview for My View with Lara Trump, the Chrisley Knows Best matriarch recalled the emotional moment she learned she would be going home, saying, “I just started busting out crying… I’m getting out of here!” The interview marks Julie’s return to the spotlight after two years behind bars and comes as the Chrisley family plans a major media comeback.

Julie, 52, was joined by husband Todd Chrisley, daughter Savannah, and son Grayson in the segment, airing June 28 on Fox News Channel. Sitting beside them, Julie recounted the phone call from Savannah that changed everything.

“I called Savannah one more time, and she said, ‘He did it, he signed it.’ And I just started busting out crying,” Julie said. “Everybody was looking around, and then I just hung up. I was so nervous, I just hung up.”

The pardon from former President Trump brought an abrupt and unexpected end to Julie and Todd’s 19-year combined prison sentence handed down in November 2022 for bank fraud and tax evasion.

Todd, 56, shared his own recollection of learning about the pardon. “This guy stops me and goes, ‘Man, I think you just got pardoned.’ And I said, ‘Yeah, okay,’” he joked. “When I went into my dorm, the CO came by and said, ‘Todd, you just got pardoned.’ And I said, ‘Well, if I’m pardoned, I’m great!’”

The couple credited divine intervention and Trump’s action for their release. “God led the people to advocate for us,” Todd said. “Every night I would pray that God would return me home to my wife and children. And he did.”

Behind-the-scenes images of the family reunion were shared on the show’s Instagram page, including photos of Lara Trump joining the Chrisleys during filming. In the video, a smiling Julie expressed both relief and gratitude, telling fellow inmates she was finally going home.

Just two days after his release, Todd addressed the media in Nashville, thanking supporters and explaining Julie’s absence. “Julie, who is a wonderful, decent, God-fearing woman… is at home with Chloe right now,” he said, referring to their adopted 12-year-old granddaughter.

Reflecting on the reunion, Todd added, “It was great to be home. No matter where that is, as long as she’s there, it’s home.”

Julie was first seen publicly on May 29, running errands in Nashville with her natural gray hair. She had been incarcerated at a Kentucky facility, while Todd served time in Florida. That same day, the couple reunited.

The Chrisleys are also preparing to tell their side of the story in their own words. Savannah revealed on her Unlocked podcast that her parents will soon appear as guests, and their hit podcast Chrisley Confessions will officially relaunch under the PodcastOne umbrella.

“I am so excited for that,” Savannah said. “For them to have a place to share their story and be truly authentically themselves after the past two and a half years.”

Julie and Todd were originally indicted in 2019 and began their prison terms in 2022. While both had their sentences slightly reduced in 2023, the pardons granted by Trump in May 2024 brought their legal saga to a dramatic close. Todd’s appeal had been upheld, while Julie’s was initially accepted due to lack of evidence, only for a judge to later affirm her original sentence — a decision now overridden by presidential clemency.

Closing Paragraph:
With their legal troubles behind them and their family reunited, Julie and Todd Chrisley are entering a new chapter — one focused on faith, storytelling, and reclaiming their voice. As they prepare to relaunch their podcast and speak to the public once more, the Chrisleys appear determined to move forward together, united and grateful.
