McConaugheys Go Pantless (Again) to Celebrate Tequila Sponsorship with Austin FC
The McConaugheys are pantless once again, and this time it’s for the love of fútbol—and tequila.
Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves McConaughey have never been shy about mixing humor with business, and their latest ad campaign for Pantalones Organic Tequila proves that once more. On Thursday, June 12, the power couple dropped a cheeky locker-room-inspired promo to celebrate their spirit brand’s role as the official sponsor of Austin FC, the Texas-based MLS team they regularly support.
Though the sponsorship was announced in February, the McConaugheys waited for the perfect moment to celebrate—in typical no-pants fashion.
In the new video, the couple appears in a locker room, tying shoelaces and muttering motivational buzzwords:
“Intensity,” Matthew declares.
“Dedication,” Camila follows.
As they hold hands and bow their heads in mock-serious prayer, the tone is tongue-in-cheek, setting the stage for what’s to come. Dressed in green—the Austin FC signature color—Matthew slips on a blazer while Camila, clad in a green top and black blazer, helps him with sunglasses. The two clink tequila glasses in a toast and confidently stride onto the pitch.
The punchline? They’re not wearing pants.
In a wide shot that pans out over a cheering crowd, the couple is seen bare-legged on the field, flashing their grins and raising their glasses. A bewildered Austin FC player shakes his head in amusement.
“We may not be playing,” Camila quips, as Matthew finishes,
“But we’re not gonna half a– it.”
Going pantless has become the McConaugheys’ signature bit since launching Pantalones Organic Tequila in October 2023. From riding motorcycles and playing pickleball to mowing the lawn, the couple has continually celebrated their tequila brand with humor and flair—usually in half of their birthday suits.
The campaign leans into the brand’s name (“Pantalones” means “pants” in Spanish) and embraces a carefree, let-loose lifestyle. The messaging? You don’t need pants to enjoy life—or great tequila.
The couple’s playful chemistry doesn’t stop at marketing. On Monday, June 9, Matthew shared a hilarious Instagram video celebrating their 13th wedding anniversary. The clip, from a red carpet interview, shows the two joking about forgetting their anniversary date.
“13? Is that it?” Matthew teases Camila after a reporter brings it up.
“We may forget the date but try to remember the meaning,” he captioned the post, ending with #happyanniversary.
Matthew and Camila married on June 9, 2012, during a three-day celebration at their home in Austin. They share three children: Levi (16), Vida (15), and Livingston (12).
Matthew McConaughey’s connection to Austin FC is deeper than brand partnerships—he’s a part-owner of the team and often seen on the sidelines. Aligning his organic tequila brand with the club was a natural fit, and the pantless campaign adds a humorous touch to the serious business of sponsorship.
With their continued antics and clever marketing, the McConaugheys are not just selling tequila—they’re selling a lifestyle of laughter, bold choices, and good times.
