"Not One and Done": Netanyahu Promises Multiple Strikes After Houthi Missile Hits Near Tel Aviv Airport
Tel Aviv, May 4, 2025:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday issued a stern warning to Yemen’s Houthi rebels, vowing a series of retaliatory strikes after the group launched a ballistic missile that landed dangerously close to Ben Gurion Airport, Israel’s primary international gateway.
In a video posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Netanyahu declared:
“It’s not a one-and-done. There will be strikes.”
He confirmed that Israel is coordinating its military response with the United States, adding, “We’ve acted against them before, and we’ll act against them again.”

The Iran-backed Houthis claimed responsibility for the missile attack, stating that it was carried out in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza amid ongoing conflict. The group has stepped up long-range missile and drone assaults targeting Israel in recent months.
The missile hit a grove just 75 meters from Terminal 3 at Ben Gurion Airport, creating a 25-meter-deep crater. Though the impact zone avoided key infrastructure, the attack breached four layers of Israeli air defence, including the famed Iron Dome, triggering panic and raising serious security concerns.
