Pakistani Journalists Clash in London Cafe During PTI Press Conference, Use Choicest Abuses: Video Goes Viral

A heated verbal exchange between journalists Safina Khan and Asad Malik erupts into public controversy; allegations of harassment and threats surface.

May 4, 2025: A dramatic altercation unfolded at a London café last week during a press briefing held by Salman Akram Raja, Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and aide to jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The event turned chaotic when Pakistani journalists Safina Khan and Asad Malik engaged in a public war of words, with the incident caught on video and now widely circulated on social media.

Khan, who works for Pakistan’s NEO News, accused Malik—along with reporters from ARY News and Hum News—of harassment and threats. In a post shared online, she alleged that Malik, Farid Qureshi (ARY News), Rafeeq (Hum News), and Mohsin Naqvi verbally abused and “threatened to kill” her during the conference.

“During Salaman Akram Raja’s coverage, I was harassed and abused… They threatened to kill me,” Khan wrote in her social media post tagging London police.

She also claimed previous threats had gone unaddressed and warned that if any harm came to her, these individuals would be responsible. She alleged a past acid attack attempt and harassment by PTI members.

In response, Asad Malik denied the allegations, calling them “false and baseless” and accused Khan of instigating the confrontation. He claimed multiple eyewitnesses corroborate that Khan initiated the verbal abuse without provocation.

The clip from the confrontation captures both sides exchanging profanities, with personal and family-related insults dominating the exchange. One video, allegedly edited and shared through a fake account linked to a journalist, was cited by Khan as part of a deliberate smear campaign.
