PM Modi Clears Welfare, Startup Boost In First Seva Teerth
PM RAHAT, Lakhpati Didi expansion and ₹2 lakh crore agri fund approved
February 13, 2026: In the first set of decisions after shifting to Seva Teerth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed key files aimed at advancing what the government described as the spirit of “Seva.” The measures focus on farmers, women, youth and vulnerable citizens, with major announcements including the launch of the PM RAHAT scheme, expansion of the Lakhpati Didi initiative, a sharp increase in the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund and approval of Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0.
Under the newly approved PM RAHAT scheme, accident victims will be entitled to cashless treatment of up to ₹1.5 lakh, with the objective of preventing loss of life due to delayed medical care. The government has also surpassed its target of creating 3 crore Lakhpati Didis ahead of schedule and has now doubled the goal to 6 crore beneficiaries by March 2029. Additionally, the outlay for the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund has been increased from ₹1 lakh crore to ₹2 lakh crore to strengthen the farm value chain and rural infrastructure.
To further bolster innovation and entrepreneurship, the Prime Minister cleared the Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with a corpus of ₹10,000 crore. The initiative is expected to support deep-tech startups, early-stage ventures and advanced manufacturing, positioning India for the next phase of innovation-led growth.
