June 13, 2025: In the wake of the tragic Air India Flight Crash in Gujarat that claimed 265 lives, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday visited the civil hospital to meet the injured survivors and medical staff treating them. Among those he met was Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, the sole survivor of the catastrophic accident.

PM Modi interacted with the doctors and healthcare workers, lauding their efforts in the immediate aftermath of the incident. Expressing his sorrow, the Prime Minister described the accident as a “heartbreaking and sudden tragedy.”
“We are all devastated by the air tragedy in Ahmedabad. The loss of so many lives in such a sudden and heartbreaking manner is beyond words. Condolences to all the bereaved families. We understand their pain and also know that the void left behind will be felt for years to come. Om Shanti,” PM Modi wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
The Flight Crash in Gujarat, which occurred shortly after takeoff on Thursday, left only one survivor out of 266 passengers and crew on board. Authorities have initiated investigations, and the operation to clear the crash site is reportedly in its final stages.
