Saif Ali Khan Discharged from Hospital: Actor on the Road to Recovery After Knife Attack

Bollywood Star Saif Ali Khan Leaves Hospital, 6 Days Post Burglary Incident

January 21, 2025: Saif Ali Khan, recovering from a shocking knife attack at his Bandra residence, has been discharged from Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. The actor, who sustained multiple stab injuries, is now on the path to recovery.

Actor Saif Ali Khan, 54, was discharged from Lilavati Hospital this afternoon, six days after being brutally stabbed during a burglary attempt at his Bandra home. The actor’s mother, veteran actor Sharmila Tagore, is assisting with discharge formalities, while his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, was present earlier but left the hospital shortly before the formalities were completed.

The attack, which sent shockwaves across the country, occurred late Wednesday night when a burglar broke into Saif Ali Khan’s residence and attacked him with a knife. The actor sustained six stab wounds, one dangerously close to his spinal cord. Doctors revealed that the knife missed his spinal cord by a mere 2 millimeters, avoiding potentially severe consequences. Saif was rushed to the hospital in an auto-rickshaw by his staff, bleeding heavily from the injuries.

The incident has raised concerns about law and order in Mumbai. Many have called for stricter security measures in the city, as a burglary of this nature in a high-profile locality has left citizens alarmed.

Doctors at Lilavati Hospital performed emergency surgery, noting the critical nature of the injury near his spine. The actor has responded well to treatment and is expected to recover fully with adequate rest. Hospital authorities have advised him to take time off from work and avoid any strenuous activity in the coming weeks.
