Superboys of Malegaon Set for Theatrical Release on February 28

The Amazon MGM Studios original, featuring Adarsh Gourav and Vineet Kumar Singh, brings the inspiring real-life story of amateur filmmaker Nasir Shaikh to the big screen.

Mumbai, January 29: Acclaimed filmmaker Reema Kagti’s latest directorial venture, Superboys of Malegaon, is gearing up for its theatrical release on February 28.

Penned by the talented Varun Grover, this Amazon MGM Studios original boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, Shashank Arora, and Anuj Singh Duhan in pivotal roles.

Bringing to life the true story of Nasir Shaikh, an amateur filmmaker from the small town of Malegaon, the film showcases the passion, resilience, and undying love for cinema among the town’s residents. In a place where Bollywood movies provide an escape from the hardships of daily life, Nasir embarks on an ambitious journey—to create a film for Malegaon, with the people of Malegaon. Gathering a motley crew of friends, he brings his vision to reality, sparking hope and creativity within his community.

According to the makers, Superboys of Malegaon is a “poignant yet uplifting take on both filmmaking and friendship, and what happens when those two worlds collide.”

The film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti under the banners of Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby Production. Having already made waves at prestigious film festivals such as the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the 68th BFI London Film Festival, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and the Red Sea International Film Festival, the film is now set to captivate audiences on the big screen.
