    • 75 watches valued at 162 million baht (~$4.6 million).
    • 39 additional timepieces added to the list.
    • 217 designer handbags worth 76 million baht (~$2.1 million).

  • Cash and Deposits: Nearly 1 billion baht (~$29 million).

A Legacy of Wealth and Power:

Paetongtarn’s father, Thaksin Shinawatra, who once owned the Manchester City Football Club, is estimated to have a net worth of $2.1 billion, ranking him 10th among Thailand’s wealthiest individuals, according to Forbes.

Thaksin used his telecommunications empire, Shin Corp, to build a powerful political dynasty. Despite years spent in exile following his ousting in a military coup, the Shinawatra family remains deeply influential in Thailand’s political landscape.

Public Reactions and Transparency:

While the declaration complies with Thailand’s legal requirements, the extravagant nature of the assets, especially the extensive handbag and watch collection, has drawn significant public attention and media coverage.

Political analysts believe this transparency is crucial for maintaining public trust amid Thailand’s complex political environment.
