“Today, We Save Our Nation”: Trump Reflects on Eve of Historic Inauguration

President-elect Donald Trump celebrates with supporters, emphasizing unity and renewal before taking office as the 47th US President.

Washington DC [US], January 20: US President-elect Donald Trump addressed a gathering at a candlelight dinner in the National Building Museum on the eve of his inauguration, expressing gratitude and framing the day as a pivotal moment in American history.

“Today, we save our nation and begin to make America great again. I’m thrilled to share this special moment with so many friends and supporters,” Trump said, as quoted in a video shared by the Trump War Room on X, citing Fox News.

A Night of Gratitude and Unity

Trump thanked his supporters for their steadfast commitment and emphasized the significance of the upcoming inauguration. “It’s been a very big day, and tomorrow’s going to be an even bigger day…I want to especially thank you all for being here on the eve of one of the most important days in the history of our country,” he remarked.

Acknowledging the challenges faced on the path to this moment, Trump underscored that the success was a collective achievement:

“This is not my victory. This is our victory. Everybody in this room,” he declared.

He praised a diverse coalition of supporters, including African Americans, Hispanic Americans, youth, women, and union members, noting record levels of engagement from these groups during the past eight years.

A Vision for Generations to Come

Trump described the gathering as emblematic of a larger political realignment, expressing confidence in its lasting impact:

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime realignment that will endure and lead America for generations to come. This was a very, very special time in our country’s history.”

He emphasized the event as the beginning of a new chapter for the United States, grounded in strength, prosperity, and unity.

Inauguration Day Ahead

Trump, who previously served as the 45th US President from 2017 to 2021, will take the oath of office as the 47th President of the United States at the US Capitol in Washington, DC, on Monday.
