According to the Delhi Fire Department, a total of 12 children were rescued, out of which six have died. One child is on a ventilator, and five others are admitted to the hospital.
The rescued newborns have been shifted to the East Delhi Advance NICU hospital for further care.
Upon receiving information about the fire, police officials and firefighters quickly reached the scene and managed to extinguish the blaze. Fire Officer Rajesh stated, “At 11:32 pm, the Fire Service Control Room received information that a fire broke out at a hospital. A total of 16 fire tenders reached the spot, and the fire has been completely extinguished. Two buildings were affected by the fire: one being the hospital building and two floors of a residential building on the right side also caught fire. Eleven to twelve people were rescued and taken to the hospital. Further details will be shared later.”
