Trump Hosts White House Iftar as India Strengthens Ties with Muslim World

US President reiterates support for Muslim community during White House Iftar, while 19 Muslim-majority nations join India’s ‘Sadbhavana Iftar’ in New Delhi to celebrate shared values and diplomacy.

Washington, DC / New Delhi, March 29:
US President Donald Trump hosted an Iftar dinner at the White House to mark the holy month of Ramzan (Ramadan), reaffirming his support for the Muslim community in America and abroad.

Addressing guests during the event, Trump said, “We’re keeping our promises to the Muslim community. While I’m president, I will be there for you.” He also emphasized his administration’s efforts toward peace in the Middle East through the Abraham Accords.

Sharing images from the evening, the White House posted on X (formerly Twitter):
“President Trump hosts Iftar Dinner… My administration is engaged in relentless diplomacy to forge lasting peace in the Middle East, building on the historic Abraham Accords. While I’m president, I will be there for you.”


Parallel Iftar in India Promotes Diplomatic Unity

Meanwhile, in New Delhi, the Indian Minorities Federation (IMF) hosted the ‘Sadbhavana Iftar’ at the residence of Rajya Sabha MP and IMF Convener Satnam Singh Sandhu, welcoming ambassadors and diplomats from 19 Muslim-majority countries.

The attendees included representatives from Somalia, Morocco, Afghanistan, Syria, Bangladesh, Sudan, Iran, UAE, Iraq, and others. Religious leaders and scholars like Majid Alnekhailawi, Maulana Syed Kalbe Rushaid Rizvi, and Haji Syed Salman Chishty were also present.

In a show of spiritual unity and interfaith harmony, guests offered prayers for global peace and India’s prosperity before breaking their fast together.

Ambassadors praised India’s deepening engagement with the Islamic world, noting that PM Narendra Modi’s leadership has enhanced ties with South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East, particularly in security and economic cooperation.
