Trump Slams Fox News Over Record-Low Approval Poll, Blasts Rupert Murdoch and Wall Street Journal
Washington, D.C., April 24:
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again taken aim at Fox News, this time over a newly released poll showing his record-low approval rating just past the first 100 days of his second term in office.
Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump criticized Fox owner Rupert Murdoch, calling out the network’s “Trump hating, fake pollster” and expressing frustration that Murdoch “has never gotten rid of” them despite promising to do so.
“This ‘pollster’ has gotten me, and MAGA, wrong for years,” Trump wrote. He also fired at another Murdoch-owned entity, calling the Wall Street Journal the “China Loving” paper and adding, “It sucks!!!”
The Fox News survey, conducted between April 18–21, shows Trump’s overall approval rating at 44%, down five points from March. This marks the lowest 100-day approval rating for Trump compared to his previous term (45%) and lower than Biden (54%), Obama (62%), and George W. Bush (63%) during the same milestone.
Fox News has long been considered a conservative-friendly outlet, but Trump has frequently accused the network of being disloyal — a feud that intensified after Fox’s early call of Arizona for Joe Biden in 2020, which proved accurate but sparked MAGA outrage.
According to the poll:
Notably, the poll also revealed that Elon Musk’s DOGE partnership with Trump was unpopular, with only 39% approval and 56% disapproval among Americans.
The poll’s findings come at a sensitive moment for Trump as he attempts to reinvigorate support heading into mid-2025 amid economic concerns, partisan clashes, and increased global tensions.
Fox News and the Wall Street Journal—both under Murdoch’s vast media empire—have not responded to Trump’s remarks.
The Fox News poll was conducted by Beacon Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R) among 1,104 registered U.S. voters.
